BIO SYNOPSIS OF JOHN R. TATONE

John R. Tatone, probate attorney / probate litigator attorney is admitted to practice in all state courts throughout the State of Michigan, as well as the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan.  He has appealed adverse rulings by trial courts with successful results in the Michigan Court of Appeals and has argued for changes in the law before the Michigan Supreme Court.

Mr. Tatone routinely attends continuing legal education courses and seminars. Unlike many 'transactional' attorneys, who run and hide after a dispute arises regarding a will, trust, contract or some other document they have drafted, Mr. Tatone prides himself on his ability to 'backup' the contents of the documents he drafts in court by serving as an effective litigator, witness or mediator.

John R. Tatone is an attorney committed to giving clients the service they expect and deserve. He works hard and prides himself on his excellent communications skills - clients are never out of the loop. He has instilled in his staff the values that make a good law firm-client relationship, such as excellent service, reliability, honesty and hard work.

JOHN R. TATONE & ASSOCIATES, PLC

The legal practice of Probate attorney, John R. Tatone, focuses on Probate and Probate litigation. Probate is the legal process and execution of the proper protocols of transferring a person's assets from their trust, property or estate upon that person's death. It is the collection of the person's assets, pay-off their debts to creditors, pay-off taxes (estate taxes, federal tax and state taxes), then distribute and transfer the remaining assets to the appropriate parties or 'heirs'.

Probate begins with a legal request, called a 'petition' to open and review the estate of the recently deceased person or 'trustee' (if the deceased person has a trust). The appointed administered person or representative of the estate or trust, which is usually a probate attorney.

Probate is also the collection, distribution and transferring of assets includes liquid and non-liquid assets. These assets may be bank accounts, investments/dividends, income, different types of real estate property, insurance benefits, etc.

Probate law processes may appear simple, but probate can quickly become very complex with the ever changing federal and state laws. You will want information in order to protect your assets, and your heirs of your estate. An experience specialized probate attorney can reduce the estate tax burden, aid in protecting the assets of the trust, streamline the probate legal process or in some cases completely avoid probate.  Read more on Probate
